Requirements for Daycamp

Temperament and Membership

  • Dogs must complete free interview to obtain membership for daycamp or boarding and must come to daycare or boarding at least once in a 6 month period to maintain their membership.

  • Dogs must be polite, obedient, friendly, social, and healthy and enjoy the play environment.

  • Dogs are separated into playgroups based on size, temperament and play style.

  • Dogs who are overly hyper can tend to have a hard time in daycare. Dogs who bark non-stop (in play area or in private space), mount other dogs non-stop, get aroused easily, or who are very insecure/nervous can create unwanted situations that can compromise the balance of the whole pack and therefore, we are unable to accept them into our daycare program. If you are unsure whether your dog falls into any of these categories, we would be happy to evaluate your dog and let you know.

Health, Age, and Vaccines

All dogs must be current on Rabies, DHLPP (Distemper/Parvo/Lepto), and Bordetella vaccinations. Bordetella is required every six months. Please have your vet email or fax us a copy of your pups records each time you have them updated.

  • Dogs over six months of age must be spayed or neutered.
  • Dogs must be on flea and heartworm prevention.

  • Dogs 10-12 years of age accepted on a case by case basis, as it is sometimes too much activity for them.

  • Puppies must complete 3 sets of  vaccinations and wait 7 days after last set to participate.

For The Parents

  • All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times while on our property and in our lobby. (Retractable leashes MUST be locked)

  • Nap/quiet-time is conducted each day from 11:00am-1:30pm.

  • Tours will only be given between 4pm-6:30pm Monday-Friday in order to prevent undue stress on dogs in our care. No appointment necessary and customers must be accompanied by a staff member during a tour.

  • Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance for all daycamp reservations or customer will be subject to cancellation charge equalling one day per dog.

  • Late Policy - The TDH staff goes off duty at closing time in the mornings and evenings and would appreciate all customers picking their pets up by then. If pets have not picked up by closing time, TDH reserves the right to keep the pet overnight and charge the going nightly rate. If our staff is able to wait (there is no guarantee of this), there is a late fee of $15 for 1-15 minutes and $2 per minute for each minute after 15 minutes. All dogs still here after closing time with no communication from the parent will be fed and boarded for the night and can be picked up the following morning and will be charged the going boarding/house food rates. It is not always possible for someone to stay here after closing time, so in that case the dog(s) will be boarded. Staff is unable to stay more than 30 minutes after closing and it is not always possible for them to stay after closing time, so in that case, the dog(s) will be boarded.
